I installed VPN server in my ubuntu desktop for this article.
http://ijat.my/install-softether-vpn-se ... -14-04-lts
The softether version is build 9449. I would like to know how can I update the server to the newest version?
Thanks,

You've installed a pre-built version of SoftEther from an additional repository and you'll have to wait until the person that maintains that repo to update it to the most recent version.

Re: update softether vpn server in ubuntu desktop
I start this with the proviso that I don't use any version of Ubuntu but you can actually build it yourself if you specifically want the current version - take a look at some of these tutorials: http://preview.tinyurl.com/SoftEtherVPNUbuntu
I use CentOS for my server but the process is really trivial to build the SoftEther server, if it were me I'd remove the repository & SoftEther version from your Ubuntu server and build it from scratch. If you have any form of virtualization I'd go for a test VM first to make sure you know how to build it and what are the requirements before you do it on your main server.
