Tunnel DNS requests?
Hello,
Currently, DNS requests are not being tunneled. Is there a way to tunnel DNS requests as well?
For OpenVPN, one usually would use 'dnsmasq' to accomplish this together with these options in OpenVPN
push "redirect-gateway def1 bypass-dhcp"
push "dhcp-option DNS 10.8.0.9"
Thanks.

Nothing prevents DNS queries over a VPN fundamentally.
Please try to change DNS setting of your OS.

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it!
Do you mean I should change the settings of the VPN Tunnel Adapter in the Network Center in Windows, and change the DNS to the IP of the server running SoftEther?

Re: Tunnel DNS requests?
Hello
In our country they check our dns requests and for some servers like facebook, it resolves with a local IP like 10.10.32.32!!!!
So I should force my connection to send its dns requests through vpn.
Most of times It do throgh vpn but sometimes not! But Why?
I tried to disable dns cache but sometimes still have this problem.
Im using NAT.

Re: Tunnel DNS requests?
Why don't you try using the Google public DNS.

Re: Tunnel DNS requests?
I've already done that but SoftEther VPN Client keeps using the DNS servers of my LOCAL network. I want it to use the DNS server of my server runnign SoftEther Server. Now my local network administrator can see my DNS requests and block them!

Re: Tunnel DNS requests?
What OS are you using as client?
Is the default gateway of your PC on the virtual network adapter of the VPN?
