VPN on client and Remote Desktop

Post by danl » Wed Feb 10, 2021 12:21 am

Hi,
I've got the vpn working great on my windows 10 PC.
When the VPN is active, I have noticed that my Remote Desktop Connection can no longer connect to the PC. I believe this is because the PC network now has a new IP address.
Is there a method or configuration I can use to have both the VPN and Remote Desktop services active at the same time?
Thanks
Dan

You mean, you cannot connect using rdp to the PC which runs the VPN client?
I think, it still should be possible from inside the local network. But unless you change the settings you wont be able to connect from the Internet through an open port of your router because your default gateway is change by the VPN to go through the VPN.
In the settings of the VPN connection, advanced settings, check "No adjustments of routing table".
Does it work then?
