Overall Advice for Raspberry Pi 2 with VPN Bridge

I want to install a VPN Bridge to my Raspberry Pi 2. I already have a VPN Server set up on a different machine, so that part is done.
My question is what OS should I use for this? I had an OS already on my Pi but cannot seem to find the login details, and so as I am wiping the device regardless I wanted to know if anyone had a recommendation.
