Post by ahmediukas » Sat Jan 31, 2015 12:55 pm

But I don't see any option to set what protocol will I use (tcp/udp, l2tp, pptp).

If you connect to SoftEther VPN server with SoftEther client it will use SoftEther technology. If you want to use others methods like L2TP you must use respective client. If you want to control UDP ar TCP connection you can manage it in advanced settings. Remember SoftEther use dynamical way to talk.

So when Softether promoting several (more) protocols than the other, you cannot set them
using Softether client ? e.g. one client would use win sstp while the other l2tp, on the SAME vpn server ?

There you can disable/enable UDP/encryption/compression, number of TCP connection (half-duplex mode (I always use this mode)) and other things.

Yes SoftEther client use its own method and you cannot connect to others VPN servers.

You can use different VPN technique on the same SoftEther server.

Compresion only saves network bandwitdh (and uses some more CPU).
Halfduplex works only in TCP mode.
Still cant find UDP type of connection to set. Whatever, will look for other clients since this doesn't fit my needs :)

SoftEther use UDP if it possible. If not it will back to TCP. Try to use some network analyze software to understand. Like tcpdump in linux.

I don't need automatic logic, but to manually define :)
