Virtual VPN client dies

I am using Amazon EC2
I have ethersoft server on one box in a Virtual private cloud.
I have ethersoft client on another box and separate virtual private cloud.

The ethersoft Client when is starts breaks my connection to the web (and does not work either) However, if the same box is run on my paltform (linus), it runs time faster, and there is no rpoblemd iwth linux
