CentOS Local Bridge Error

CentOS Local Bridge Error
Creating a Local Bridge on my CentOS 6.7 x64 VPS always lists the new tap device as "error." ifconfig shows no new adapter. I have tried bridging with physical adapter and new tap device. I also tried creating Local Bridge with vpncmd. It says command successful, but device is listed as "error." What should I do?

This is the error in the server log that shows up lots of times:
2016-01-27 05:24:54.460 [HUB "DEFAULT"] Session "SID-LOCALBRIDGE-5": Because communication has failed to be established with physical Ethernet interface "gretap0", the Local Bridge has stopped.
2016-01-27 05:24:55.497 [HUB "DEFAULT"] Session "SID-LOCALBRIDGE-5": A Local Bridge connection to physical Ethernet interface "gretap0" was started.
2016-01-27 05:24:54.460 [HUB "DEFAULT"] Session "SID-LOCALBRIDGE-5": Because communication has failed to be established with physical Ethernet interface "gretap0", the Local Bridge has stopped.
2016-01-27 05:24:55.497 [HUB "DEFAULT"] Session "SID-LOCALBRIDGE-5": A Local Bridge connection to physical Ethernet interface "gretap0" was started.

Did you run the VPN server as root?
Was the universal TUN/TAP device module loaded?
