Error (Error code 1) Connection to the server failed

Hi team,

I got a request from 3 to 4 inhouse users to configure the Softether VPN. I configure the vpn as per the PDF but when the user is entering the password there is an error "Error (Error code 1) Connection to the server failed. Check network connection and make sure that address and port number of destination server are correct". and post then it prompts for username and password again and again. Mentioned troubleshooting steps has been performed:

- Checked the version of softAther vpn client manager- 4.43 (Build 9799)
- Checked the port 1194 - Its opened
- Checked connecting on Local LAN/ WIFI - not able to connect as the same error comes
- Checked connecting mobile hotspot- still not able to connect

Port 1194 is conventionally used by OpenVPN, whereas you connect there with a SE client.

Could you please direct me with the steps to locate SE client?

In other words, you are attempting to use SoftEther client on a likely OpenVPN port. What "the PDF" were you referring to?

The Port 1194 is already opened on firewall. Please find the attached PDF which I am referring to. I have attached in the png form as unable to attach PDF.

Try a SoftEther client connecting to default "TCP Ports: 443, 992 and 5555" as specified in https://www.softether.org/3-spec
Try an OpenVPN client on (UDP) 1194.
Otherwise, you need to follow the PDF guide precisely or ask the VPS for support.

SoftEther has nothing to do with your vpn.arge-sk.org nor its support issues.
