Ip leaks

Can I make the vpn automatically disconnected itself if the server connection fails? it keeps on retrying to connect resulting in IP or DNS leaks! This will make me no longer anonymous.
Probably not your ideal sort of way in preventing your IP being visible but there is this thread discussing of a way:
