Softether and VOIP Issues

Post by gmj23 » Sat Dec 08, 2018 7:32 pm

Hello forum. I'm having a major issue with a site-to-site deployment and our VOIP phones. The phones disconnect randomly for 5-15 seconds. The person will be on a call and the call will just drop out and then return. We also get a lot of static when talking on the phone. They also disconnect and display no connection to the SIP provider from time-to-time. Any ideas what could be causing this? Help would be appreciated.

The setup is a Bridge server in one branch office connected to the head office Softether VPN Server. The Bridge is connected to the head office through a cascade connection. The Bridge is connected without UDP acceleration, NAT-T is disabled, 16 TCP connections in half-duplex mode with compression enabled. The bridge connects and obtains an IP address from the head office without a gateway so internet traffic does not pass over the VPN.

Please help. Very important.

I recommend disabling the compression.

Anyway, you should confirm the VPN stability by ping etc.
