OpenVPN Auth issue

Post by krikaleak » Mon Oct 15, 2018 4:23 am

hey all,

I've setup a Softether VPN server and generated a openvpn profile using the tool on Softether. every time I try to connect from the OpenVPN android app using the profile and a user I created I keep getting a Auth Failed message on the client, and the server has this log. I can't figure out the issue because according to the log it looks like it does authenticate. Please let me know if you have any idea what's going on! Thank you!! P.S. I edited all external IP's.

Hello,

In that case it's not an authentication issue, the OpenVPN client fails to connect because you don't have a DHCP server:

Code: Select all

2018-10-14 21:08:48.648 OpenVPN Session 6 (69.69.69.69:42982 -> 192.168.1.6:1194) Channel 0: Acquiring an IP address from the DHCP server failed. To accept a PPP session, you need to have a DHCP server. Make sure that a DHCP server is working normally in the Ethernet segment which the Virtual Hub belongs to. If you do not have a DHCP server, you can use the Virtual DHCP function of the SecureNAT on the Virtual Hub instead.
