SoftEther VPN Server Manager won't connect to Linux instance

Post by gevityitops » Mon Jun 25, 2018 3:33 pm

Hi all,

I'm looking for some direction as I've tried to figure out the connectivity between an instance of the VPN Server installed on Ubuntu Server 18.04, and the VPN Server Manager installed on OSX.

I have the instance configured and active, but the server manager won't connect on any port. Could someone help me with getting the Server Manager to connect to the instance if there are steps I need to perform on vpncmds to setup for remote management?

Thanks in advance!

Is the VPN server process running?
Can you check that the process open the port with netstat?

I checked the systemd process and everything is operating correctly. I have 2 processes running as root.

I did a netstat check, but I don't see any connections or open ports for the vpn server. Is there an initial configuration that has to be completed for the VPN server manager to connect?

Thanks for your reply!

SoftEther VPN Server opens 443, 992, 1194, 5555 of TCP ports in default settings.
If these ports aren't opened, the initialization process of SoftEther VPN Server doesn't complete.
Please check the server log.
