Seems successful but actually not

Post by ddreamer » Sun Oct 25, 2015 3:03 am

Briefly describe my environment:

SoftEther VPN server is running in Windows XP (IP:10.0.2.15/24, Gateway:10.0.2.2) in Virtualbox (Network connection:NAT. Virtual card:PCnet-FAST III (Am79C973)) on a Linux machine (IP:192.168.1.104/24, Gateway: 192.168.1.1) behind an ADSL model (as the Gateway). The VPN azure is on.

SoftEther Client is running in Windows XP (IP:10.0.2.15/24, Gateway:10.0.2.2) in Virtualbox (Network connection:NAT. Virtual card:PCnet-FAST III (Am79C973)) on a Linux machine (IP:192.168.1.104/24, Gateway: 192.168.1.1), which connects to a Wifi AP provided by a cell phone.

The connection is successful throught VPN azure and ipconfig shows a new Ethernet Adapter VPN - VPN client. The IP is 169.254.a.b/16 (a and b is a numbner) Default gateway is empty. Because the default gateway is empty, I cannot even set the route to force all the network to the box running SoftEther Server mannually.

When I try "tracert" to www.google.com.tw in the box running SoftEther Client, it takes the route out directly but not throught the box running SoftEther VPN server.

In addition, in the Windows box running Ethernet Server, the ADSL modem can be reached by connecting to 192.168.1.1. BUT, the ADSL modem cannot be connected in the box running SoftEther Client. Of course, the SoftEther VPN connection status is ON.

Please help me~~~

Did you use localbridge or SecureNAT?

Is there DHCP server at server side?

Server IP address and client IP address are same.
Is it correct?
