I setup vpnserver with softether, and enable the openvpn feature,then I connect it from both Linux and Windows,but get this problem:
the client always get a wrong gateway address,it is the IP address +1,for example:
if client get the ip is 192.168.30.13 ,the gateway address must be 192.168.30.14
I have setup the vpnserver with both CentOS and Ubuntu for test,on two cloud server,and get the same problem:

The VPN adapter is an ethernet connection or a ppp link?

It's normal.
The gateway address is OpenVPN protocol converter address.
You don't need care about it when you can use.
