Post by jamesbara » Wed Apr 08, 2015 12:25 pm

I want to get social network sites the likes of Google+, Facebook, etc., with vpn through my laptop. Any ideas on which one is best value, quality and support for use not only in China, but also in Hong Kong area, as I will be frequently there too.

Yeah, As per my knowledge purevpn is best for china and then express and ipvanish both are good enough. However it is better to read the vpn reviews of users and other review website like vpnranks.com before finalizing any vpn.

The frustrating reality of Geo blocking is common in the world's most populous state, China. To fill this gap, people have tried different methods and successfully get access to region restricted sites. To be honest with you, ExpressVPN is the best vpn for China. Also some great some deals are listed here. https://www.reviewsdir.com/blog/best-china-vpn/

Personally I am using this VPN provider for China Firewall http://www.vpnfaqs.com/2014/11/china-vpn-ip/ it works with OpenVPN through SSH tunneling, it is highly secured and encrypted, you can surf the web freely, no ban, no disconnections. I recommend it for everyone to get rid of China Firewall.

When I visited China I faced many problems on internet, everything is blocked there. Then I tested my VPNs but some of them are working. After that I purchased PureVPN and it works perfectly fine. You can read the detailed PureVPN reviews on Best VPN Provider. Here is the link: https://www.bestvpnprovider.com/purevpn-review/.

SoftEher and VPN Gate are not working in China. I am living in Shanghai, tried many VPNs, finally, only FlyVPN does work for me. It is available for free trial without credit card.

It is always a difficult thing to select the right vpn for China and many vpn providers do not have China servers, but they are still selling vpn by fooling people. So I decided to conduct a research and I wanted to expose them.
Also I wanted to highlight those vpn provider who are providing excellent vpn service in China.
I was knew that the research will take time, that's why I took help from VPN creators and industry specialists because without them we would not have the same outcome. The synopsis of my research was that we found PureVPN to be the best vpn for as far as value for money is concerned. It has remarkable service for just 2.45/month. We bought a number of VPNs and one of them was PureVPN. I buy vpn service from PureVPN, and downloaded movies from torrent sites, stream channels and many other things. The IP leak test was negative, showing no signs of IP leak. One more thing I configured its different apps and they all were complete user-friendly.

I also recommend other they should buy vpn service from PureVPN.
You can also get more information here. https://www.usavpn.com/best-china-vpn-service/

Thanks.

If you are in China it might be a good idea to have a back up VPN solution other than VPN Gate or SoftEther. I know for myself I cannot handle being cutoff from access to internet essentials for work etc. Unfortunately, many of the reliable VPN apps that aren't blocked in China are not free.

In the past I have used Astrill. It has a web proxy (fast browsing) and also a stealth VPN mode, which is effective at circumventing the Great Firewall. A couple years ago Astrill got too popular and experienced some blockages around Chinese New Year. Now it appears that ExpressVPN and VyprVPN might be the best alternatives. You can check out this China VPN list resource for comparisons: http://startuplivingchina.com/best-vpn-for-china/.

You can also look into setting up a Shadowsocks (https://shadowsocks.org/en/index.html) server, however I have found there are some downsides versus using a VPN / OpenVPN route.
