If you want to be a volunteer, I think you will need to install a VM with Windows and use brifged connection to your real NIC so any network activities which do not affect the hardwares and routers will not affect the VM.
Secondly, when a person see the VPN list, it is not full list.
Thirdly, I think server version for Windows will work better.
